When we think about bathroom remodeling and Feng Shui we are literally focusing on a philosophical attitude to the design of the bathroom. The term, which many people are accustomed with, is Chinese and translates to mean water and wind. When we apply this to bathroom design we are literally looking at the flow of energy, or chi, throughout the room in its most effective manner.

The principles behind Feng Shui are based on the principles that water is vital in our lives and is also a source of energy. It shows us how to use and control this energy in an effective manner. It doesn't just have to be applied to the bathroom though. Whether we are at home, in our offices, market place, we have the potential to boost our well being to ensure the success in areas such as our relationships, career and school.

When we apply this philosophy to the design of our bathroom, we are essentially trying to establish how the design and placement of the room will be of benefit to our health and prosperity.

A key tool that is often used is the Bagua color chart. It isn't surprising to learn that the foundation behind Feng Shui is deeply rooted in religion which may occasionally be a difficult notion to grasp. The important thing to remember though is that even small changes can give a bathroom that is neat, beautiful and wants to make you spend time in.

You will quickly come to understand that the location of the bathroom within the house is important when applying the principles and philosophy of Feng Shui. If you build your bathroom, for example, on the second floor in locations such as over the main door, above the kitchen door you will hamper the flow of cash.

If you build the room at the centre of the building this can have the effect of destabilizing within the whole of the home the flow of the energy. Unless your are undertaking a new construction or complete remodeling it is likely that the bathroom will already be in place and fixed in terms of its location.

The bathroom has a major role in the removal and processing of waste.According to Feng Shui, therefore, a blockage in this processing structure in the bathroom could mean a block into your financial flow and can have a detrimental effect on your prosperity.

Although it may be difficult for some people to give these ideas much credibility, some scientific studies have shown that there may be real benefits to it. The best thing to do is to try locating your bathroom according to the Feng Shui way and see if it works on your wealth and well-being.

It's said that a man's (or woman's) home is his/her castle. This proverbial expression illustrates the principle of your right to enjoy your personal privacy at home. Your home provides a much needed refuge from the stress of the outside world. It's the one place where you can do what you want to do, when you want to do it.

It is, of course, natural to strive to make your surroundings at home as pleasant and peaceful as possible. A great way to enhance your home's environment is to add an indoor water fountain. A quality fountain will reduce stress, mask unpleasant noises, and provide an attractive focal point within the room.

There are a seemingly endless variety of fountains available in today's market. Selecting the type and design of fountain that is best for you may seem to be a daunting task. But a casual evaluation of your home decorating scheme can make that decision quite a bit easier. No matter what style you have chosen for your personal living space, it can be enhanced by a water fountain that adds that final touch to your decor.

Does your home decor make use of rich colors, organic materials, natural textures, or exposed wood? Does your interior decorating style have a multi-cultural feel? If so, you may want to choose a fountain that is made from natural materials such as sandstone, granite, copper or slate. These types of materials would coordinate well with your decor.

If your home has a contemporary or modernistic decor, fountains that use stainless steel in a simple, angular design would probably look great. Wall mounted fountains can make a bold statement and serve as an eye catching centerpiece. Similarly, modern floor mounted fountains can do double duty as a piece of fine art that enhances your decor.

Homes with a Feng Shui or general Asian theme can be readily enhanced by one of the many Asian inspired water fountains that are available. Tabletop fountains made from stone, ceramic and bamboo combined with the element of flowing water are quite popular. Similarly, fountains with the elegant simplicity of a Zen garden theme are also found in many Asian interior designs.

Homes with traditional decor are well suited for fountains with a classic look. Scalloped edges, delicate scrollwork and tiered basins work well together giving a traditional home a stylish look. Classic fountains can be found made from a wide range of materials. Finding one that works well with your particular decorating style should not be very difficult.

Finding the perfect water fountain for your home is the first step toward a new level of peaceful relaxation to counter the stress of the outside world. The perfect water fountain can help you make your "castle" even more relaxing through the gentle sound of flowing water.

by MaryAnn Russell

We are in the middle of the Year of the Ox; that slow, steady, hard working energy has characterized most of the year so far. Periodically I take time to really examine my living space to see where I can strengthen the feng shui and, as a result, enhance my lifestyle.

I've had plans to extend the patio area in my backyard for sometime. The goal was to create more balance and make the outdoor living space more functional. This section of the yard falls in the East Family/Health and the Northeast Knowledge area. The design concept has been worked out for some time but, while waiting for an opportune time to move ahead with project, I was bothered by a small section of the yard I called the "dead zone".

This "void" or "dead zone" in the yard is where I've made a mistake. I should have focused on improving this area along time ago because aesthetically it looks lifeless and blank. Certainly from a feng shui perspective it tends toward imbalance and weakness. The area lacks a beautiful focal point that will give it life and vitality. Just glancing at it triggers a feeling of dissatisfaction and emptiness.

After considering how the "dead zone" impacted the feng shui of the backyard as well as the house, I knew I had to find a temporary solution. Up until then, I kept telling myself that the area would be remedied when the patio is extended; all the while I was annoyed every time I looked at it. The solution came in the form of 3 trees and 2 lanterns. I potted 3 trees in grow pots and placed solar lanterns between them to create a finished, balanced arrangement.

Most of us have areas in our home we want to update or improve when the time is right. Avoid making the mistake I did by at least making some enhancement, even if it's temporary. This is especially true if you have an area that is bothersome to you. My solution was to carry the design elements from the rest of the backyard to remedy the area where the "void" was. The arrangement is reusable and dollar wise because I've already started growing the trees that will be planted at a later time.

Another feng shui concept I've developed focuses on the room or area where you spend most of your time. Aside from the bedroom (and perhaps the office) this is usually the family room. Wherever this area is for you, it is "a room of great influence" and it is vital to pay careful attention to the room's balance and harmony. First and foremost, the room should elicit a sense of satisfaction and peace both visually and viscerally. The living space you spend a lot of time in has an impact on your quality of life. A recent enhancement I made to my "room of influence" was to put crown molding in and it created these changes in the room:

* Improved the floor to ceiling or spacial balance * Ambiance of the room was elevated because the "eye" tends upward toward the new design feature * Added a sense of strength and solidity to the entire room

I hope you've gained a greater understanding about the feng shui of your living space and it's connection to your quality of life.

Feng Shui is getting very popular with room designs including in the children's rooms. It will make them feel more secure, comfortable, and also give them great spiritual comfort. Feng Shui is the placement of the room's furniture and decor to make the room's space flow rather than having it blocked with negative issues. After researching Feng Shui you'll notice the positive into creating your child's room into this decor so it will help your child grow more positive rather than having negative items blocking their way.

A Feng Shui atmosphere is relaxing, encouraging, and well balanced with its design. On the other hand it also has been show to give success in a person's life when Feng Shui is used in their room. There are a few elements which you should try to tie into the rooms design. That would be as much natural light as possible with some type of soothing sound which comes from nature. Lighting is another big issue in Feng Shui rooms since you don't want it to be too bright or too dim. Try using a dimming switch if possible do you can set the mood to your child's room.

For a child's room, you will be focusing on not only improving their room but improving their life as well. You should create one that will provide your child with a sense of coziness and safety. In order to create that feeling of security that every child is in need of, you should have the head of the bed sitting against the wall. Before the child enters into the room, you should make sure he or she is able to turn on the light so that they can see during the night hours.

Clutter is something that every child always has in their room. The bedroom is sometimes the place where the child will play most of the day so therefore having the storage of all their necessities in their living area. By making sure you have enough storage whether it is in the closet or the use of toy bins. You want to avoid having clutter when your child is ready to relax and go to sleep.

Another must in any child's room is an area rug. You now get several kinds of area rugs that are especially meant for children's rooms. These are typically plush and soft and meant to break a fall as well as to cuddle up on and scuffle around on. In keeping with the principles of feng shui you may want to look for area rugs that are too bright and stimulating for your child's room.

Whichever type of design you choose to buy, the main thing to think of when buying an area rug for a child's room is that it should require low maintenance and will not get ruined with the smallest spill.

Bringing about prosperity, wealth and energy into your home can all be done by using Feng Shui, an ancient Chinese believe of colors and balance of the room you are decorating. If you want to place Feng Shui in your home though you should read this article to help you make the correct changes. With a room that has been decorated using Feng Shui you should notice some extra energy emanating from the room as you walk in. You can also apply this principle to the bedroom of your home.

Before we start though it should be said that if you want to try Feng Shui you should not change more than one room at a time...This is because it's thought if you change too much at once you will upset the balance and cause confusion with the chi. So for some great tips in specific aspects of your life read on.

If you feel you need romance in your life, you should position your head to what is called the "Nien Yen". Translated it means romance direction. It is believed if you set your position up like this that your love life will indeed improve. For people who are married it will work for you too, improve the relationship of romance in your love life. A great way to bring this into your bedroom is by getting what is called a Chinese marriage mystical, it should be red in color, place it in the corner of your room. Now it's important that you put it in the South-West corner though for it to be placed correctly.

Giving a quick boost to a marriage can be accomplished by simple methods also. Add in a nice picture of peonies into the bedroom. It's said that these flowers mean a happy love life, so why not try it, and remember you can try two things.

Feng Shui can be brought about with the use of area rugs also. You have so many to choose from you should be able to find the perfect one that can bring a nice balance into your bedroom. Plus an area rug is great to add in some warmth and possibly some nice color to the area. If you have wood floors it will also be a great place to step on those cold winter mornings.

Another popular theme that people love to bring into the bedroom is one of prosperity. Prosperity can be signified by the phoenix. You can add a nice picture or figure of a phoenix in your bedroom. These symbols can be added in other areas of the house as well, such as dining area, or office. Feng Shui is very popular so you shouldn't have much problem finding furnishings to add into your bedroom. Just remember that you shouldn't change more than two things at one time. As an extra tip plum blossoms also stand for success, so try and get something that has these on them for another good addition to a room.

by Ruth Decker

Feng Shui may be a foreign terminology but it is far from being an alien concept for many people, especially for the home decorating enthusiasts, culture vultures and fans of anything Chinese. The simplest definition of Feng Shui is that it's an ancient design principle that originated in China used for creating positive chi (known in layman's term as energy) in a living space. The end goal is to have harmony. The positioning of things, types of objects, shapes and colors are elements of Feng Shui. They are responsible for the flow of energy or lack thereof. They determine if a living space has positive or negative chi and if there's balance in the space.

Feng Shui has been in existence for thousands of years. The Chinese belief states that the flow of energy is powerful and a crucial element for good health, fortune, happiness, etc. The opposites are also because of the obstruction of good energy. Therefore, energy still has the last say. Think of Tai Chi. This form of meditative exercise, although very gentle is about creating, releasing and welcoming energy. Toxins are flushed out merely because of the flow of energy. Feng Shui is similar in a way that it dictates the chi in a room. The flow and how it affects the ambiance of the room relies on the use of Feng Shui - how objects are placed and what items or colors are maximized.

It is impossible to become a feng shui expert overnight, especially since incorporating these principles into your home demands a careful study into the geography and orientation of the property itself. You also have to determine several different aspects such as the Chinese zodiac sign and the lucky number of each household member. There's a plethora of factors you have to take into consideration in order to achieve the 'perfect' or ideal feng shui setup at home.

One example is the general rule of placing objects without causing obstruction in movement. They say if you can't move freely in a room because the furniture "block" the way, chi is blocked as well. Hence, the flow of energy is affected. This can cause sickness, ill feelings among family members, loss of wealth, stress and other negativity. Mirrors are also said to affect the flow of chi as they can somehow change the path of energy.

Feng Shui is also extended to smaller things and even colors. Round objects are signs of good luck. That's why round fruits are in demand come Chinese New Year to call in good fortune for the new year. Horses and frogs symbolize fortune, so having figurines or paintings of such animals can bring in the chi for money.

Red is a lucky color and yellow is not just a happy hue but is also a sign of good health and happiness. Incorporating these colors is favorable for positive energy to flow into your home. Area rugs for example in the positive colors don't only look appealing but also bring in a favorable ambiance.

Colors are also part of Feng Shui. Red is mostly a lucky color. It denotes wealth, happiness and luck. An area rug in this color placed in the study or home office can help the productivity in working. Some people even use the red color in places where they do business for good luck. However, an important thing to note is that lucky colors also change depending on the year's zodiac or astrological sign. What's important is to apply the Feng Shui principle of creating harmony and balance. Therefore, if you have a room where colors blend well together, then there's good chi. If you can't think of anyway to incorporate color in a room, use an area rug as a decor. This can instantly accent any furnishing as well as add appeal to the living space.

Believing and practicing Feng Shui is a personal choice. There is no strict rule that you should apply Feng Shui principles in your home in roder to have a pleasant or attractive place. It's basically just a guide to make your home look well balanced. The important thing is that you feel good in your own home.

There is so much more about decorating your homes the Asian way than just having the right furniture, colors and patterns. Asian home decor goes at a much deeper level, so much so that experts have spent centuries perfecting an art dedicated to it. There exists the Asian practice of Feng Shui, which places great emphasis on object positioning and spacing inside a room. While area rugs may not seem to have a direct influence on object positioning per se, it doesn't mean that they are less important when home decor is concerned.

Admittedly, area rugs don't get in the way -people just step on them. However, they also contribute to the energy flow in the room all the same. One of the key factors to consider is the rug's color. To emphasize the energy of a room with lots of activity, use fire colors such as red, orange and vibrant yellow. Earth colors such as light yellow and beige symbolize stability and protection, and would be good to have inside bedrooms. Places like study rooms should have rugs colored either gray or white, metal colors that improves clarity of mind.

If you want the room to exude purity a color that is black or even blue should be put in the room. While a study should be a place where you work, so gray is a nice addition. The color of a wood is considered to be full of vitality. So you can see how adding in an area rug into the Feng Shui home can be so important.

Another thing to consider in Asian decor is the texture. It should be different in every room so you can place a different energy just by stepping into another room. For the fire themed rooms you want to use silk or synthetic rugs. Fabrics like cotton or linen are great for wood. Bring out the water sign by using see through fabrics. For earth energy try check patterned rugs.

You won't need a rug that will take up the entire space on the floor, instead choose a smaller rug. Don't place furniture in the way of the rug. You may need a bigger rug in the living room and the bedroom depending on what flooring you have.

Pattern-wise, try to be diverse in your choices. Some should be geometric and symmetrical in design, and squares are highly recommended for those going for the stable look. Pointed shapes in your rug designs represent activity, while round shapes symbolize concentration. Organic designs and wavy patterns have known soothing and revitalizing properties.

Keep in mind that Asian-themed homes have a lot more to them than just the right furniture and accessories, so take Feng Shui into consideration. Arrange your furniture to minimize energy obstruction, and your rug can meld everything together. So it turns out that choosing your area rug according to ancient Asian practices may seem to make the task of selecting one more difficult, but it helps a lot especially when you want your Asian home decor to be as authentic as possible.

When you normally stop and think about feng shui, you are probably focused on the thought of lighting candles and making a space as open and bare as possible. While it is true that having the minimal amount of clutter in an area is important to help the chi flow throughout a room, this doesn't mean that you should not have absolutely any possessions around. The principle of feng shui really recommends everything should have a place and there should be a place for everything.

Feng shui also places a great deal of importance on the way that the objects within the room are arranged. If you have a number of pieces of furniture, they need to be arranged in the room in a way that anyone can get to where they want to go in the room without having to take a number of twists and turns to get there. Opening up the space is important for it will allow more energy to flow between the objects, helping to give a healthier environment.

Of course, when you think about feng shui, you rarely think about the role that area rugs might play in the design. Since area rugs are not a feature which people frequently move around, they assume that an area rug will have no influence on the feng shui of a room. This is a misconcetion however, for feng shui will deal with every single object in a room. Every object gives off energy that feeds into the chi and area rugs are no exception.

The color too greatly influences the Feng Shui of a room. Colors are believed to dictate the mood. Thus, the colors of the area rugs also contribute to the positive or negative mood. An over supply of soft colors can be too relaxing while a monopoly of bold colors can give tension to the room.

The texture of an area rug will be important as well. If the floors in a space are not traditionally welcoming, including an area rug may make the room much more comfortable to be in. This is true with anything from hardwood to concrete or tile floors. They can be cold and hard, not at all pleasant to be in. Include an area rug, though, and one finds that the room is much more comfortable to spend time in.

One of the biggest factors on the chi of a room is how much a person enjoys being in it. The energy that a person both gives off and takes while in a room will set the mood of that room. Having a healthy chi means having a room which accepts people into its space without much struggle. The area rug may be one of the quickest means of doing so.

If you want to decorate in feng shui read this article. It will help you to understand how the Chinese believe this system and chi work to create a nice living space. Chi will send out the energy through the room and out of all objects that are in it. With this chi flowing in the right way you will find that it can invigorate a person, or if it is done incorrectly is will hinder their days. Feng shui is the way that you set up the dcor and color of the rooms to create the proper flow of chi throughout it.

Of course, one of the biggest influences on chi and feng shui itself is the color scheme which is used in the space. Color is important because it can make a huge impact on the person viewing it and ultimately, the flow of chi will be determined by the people in the room. Color can give off certain emotions and moods. Light colors can either be uplifting or aggravating depending on the arrangement and purpose of the room. Dark colors may be soothing or they may be depressing for the same reasons.

You need to learn to use the colors that are placed in the room in the right way with feng shui. If you are trying to create the right atmosphere for a bedroom you need to put in a few darker colors and not many light or bright ones, this will not have a person relaxing if there is too much brightness. The same is said for a work area, don't place dark colors unless you don't want work to get done.

The specific objects in the room will play a large part in determining the chi of the room. You will certainly want to balance out the room so that you do not have too many light colored objects or dark ones. A room with light walls should focus on dark furnishing and and vice versa. Otherwise the room becomes too powerful and overwhelming in its presentation and one starts to feel surrounded by that set of colors.

Area rugs will help out the chi in a room too. With so many colors of rugs available you shouldn't have a problem adding a rug in every room possible. You don't have to have a rug that matches the furniture as long as it looks right on the floor. This may be the best way to help the chi get through the room with a nice smooth flow.

A great way that you can tell if you have the feng shui of a room done correctly is to watch how people who visit act to the room. If they seem happy and have a bunch of energy you have the colors and set up just right. But if they are uptight, you may have too may bold colors in the room. If you can read how people react in your rooms you will have a great way of figuring out how to have the chi flowing the correct way.

You may think that feng shui is a very easy thing to accomplish when you go to decorate, but the truth is that you will need a bunch of patience in order to get this just right. The best way that you will come up with just the right feng shui in your decor is by making mistakes and a lot of changes. There are many ways that feng shui will create the right chi flow in your room, but coming to realize when you need to make a change is one of the best qualities to get the proper placement.

Feng shui comes from the Chinese and they believe that certain colors and placements of objects in the home will promote different energy forces to help you out. To get the right flow of this energy known as chi you need to know how to pick the correct placement and colors when decorating using feng shui. This chi energy will invigorate you and have you being happy and living a life that is healthy. So to get these benefits from Feng shui lets look into the art a bit more.

Since we know that the art of this feng shui took thousands of years to be made, it won't be something you can quickly learn and get just right in your home. You will need to make changes to the placement and colors in your home quite often before you get that perfect balance set.

If you wish to apply the basics of feng shui to your design, however, you must learn to trust your instincts. It is your instincts that can pick up on the very basic details of the flowing of chi. While you may not be able to determine exactly how the chi is flowing throughout the room; you will know instinctively know if a room feels right or not. If you feel relaxed and content within the room, the chi is flowing well. If the room makes you feel unnerved, then it could be that the chi is being blocked. Through regular experimentation, you will be able to play around with the arrangement of the room until you find a combination that works.

You also need to make sure that you add the proper accessories into the room. If you have an object that works against the feeling of the room too much, you will only disrupt the way the chi should be flowing. You should find the right color for the room but also remember that you shouldn't use too much of the color either this will also throw the balance off and block the correct flow of the chi.

You also need to make sure that the arrangement of your room will allow the chi to flow the right way. It will take some time and many changes. Just learn from those mistakes and make the changes you need to, you will surely come upon the right way to get the chi flowing in your feng shui decor.

Considered by many to be the most ancient form of decorating, feng shui takes ancient Chinese principles and applies them to the way that you arrange the furniture throughout your home. The theory behind feng shui is that every single object gives off an energy, which is called its "chi." That chi will flow throughout the room and entire living space, affecting the people within that space in very specific ways. Learning how to arrange the room so that the chi is at its optimal performance level is important.

In today's culture, feng shui has been heavily watered down and adapted to a pop culture sensation. Most of the nuances of the practice have been forgotten and this can often cause this art to fail miserably. Considering that this practice is something which has been developing for many thousands of years, one can be assured that the true practice of feng shui is something delicate. Instead, parts are seemingly chosen at random to give today's feng shui the accessibility which it seems to have acquired.

Feng Shui is not as simple as knowing which objects need to be rearranged. Every detail must be analyzed and everything must be related with each other. Fortunately, for those who only want some basic information, it is possible to practice Feng Shui in your home.

On the other hand, using Feng Shui in simple ways is possible. The most basic thing to do is to listen to your instincts. It's nothing new given that we hear this all the time. Nevertheless, it works. You will feel if something is not right, and that is energy pulling at you. If you feel comfortable in a room, then the flow of energy is going the right way.

The specifics of the room are important as well. Does the area rug that you have laid as the foundation for the floor work well? Are the colors off? Do they enhance the room or are they too loud and garish or too vapid and dull? Do the textures not mesh well with the rest of the room? An area rug can be an element which makes the entire room welcoming and friendly or can make the room feel completely unfriendly and sterile. Playing with the possibility of using an area rug should be important to anyone looking for a great balance of chi.

Home decorating is a tricky process in general. We make mistakes, we try again, we fail yet again and we try another approach. Along the way, we are either blocking or allowing chi to flow. As long as you feel right, it is a good sign. Don't just focus on how those area rugs or the other decors look. Feel too the emotions and the energy present in the room.

This ancient art of placement and harmony has become popular with such celebrities as Oprah and Paula Abdul. Seeking out an accredited Feng Shui program no longer requires booking passage to China. Feng Shui is a potent tool for not only opening up spaces, but also opening up the perception of space. As a result, when this ancient art is coupled with a solid foundation in interior design an ambitious designer can possibly leverage more lucrative opportunities.

Feng Shui involves the correct placement of objects to allow this energy force to flow more harmoniously. The Western scientific community considers Feng Shui to be little more than superstition. Be that as it may, Feng Shui is believed to contribute to such facets of human existence as good health, wealth, and prosperity. The fundamental belief of Feng Shui hinges on the concept of Qi. Qi is energy force or vitality all living things possess.

The practice of Feng Shui initially involved aligning homes and burial mounds with the sun and evolved to encompass magnetic fields and lunar pulls. The practice dates back over 3,000 years to the Yangshao and Hongshan cultures. Arranging the components of a home or room in accordance with the principles of Feng Shui, therefore, can balance certain energy deficiencies or lags and therefore increase health and prosperity.

The study of Feng Shui involves the exoteric and the esoteric. Deeper study and insight reward the avid student. Once the basic tenants have been mastered, the more philosophical aspects of the art, which involve Taoist and Confucian ideologies, can be better understood. Though these aspects may not appeal to all potential students, it is worth mentioning that well-versed graduates and masters are often more handsomely rewarded for the depth of their knowledge.

It can take years, even a lifetime, to comprehend Feng Shui. You will be charged with understanding not only the space before you, but also the people who will inhabit it. Every client will have a distinct need or energy requirement. You must simultaneously assess the client and the space and create the perfect, free-flowing space.

The ancient art of Feng Shui has become a fixture of modern life. Where and how to place objects is all the rage and restaurants, malls, and shops seem to bee on the Feng Shui bandwagon. One of the most important aspects of Feng Shui, however, is the little understood Bagua. The Bagua is something of an octagonal map designed to help the Feng Shui master understand and apply the principles of proper design.

The Bagua postulates nine distinct aspects of Feng Shui, which correspond to specific aspects of our lives. Each aspects needs to be harmonized for best results. It's an accepted fact that subtle vibrations play a very important role in our lives. The right vibrations can help is achieving prosperity while the wrong ones can create problems in our lives. According to the Bagua, there are nine areas of our lives, namely: family, health, relationships and love, prosperity, fame and reputation, creativity and children, skills and knowledge, helpful people and travel, and career.

These areas of our lives are the most important aspects for all of us. Bagua suggests that people with problems related to money need to concentrate on the area of prosperity. The elements associated with prosperity are water and wood. The color purple is associated with prosperity. When you want your fame to grow, then the area of fame and reputation is to be concentrated upon in Bagua. This aspect is governed by the elements of fire and wood. The color of this aspect is red. If you want to enhance or initiate a new relationship, then you need to concentrate on the area of relationship and love in Bagua. The color of this aspect is pink and it's ruled by the elements of earth and fire.

If you have a family issue that needs to be sorted out then you need to concentrate on the family area of the Bagua. This aspect has the main element as water. The colors associated with this aspect are green, black and blue. If you are suffering due to your health, then you can harmonize the health aspect of Bagua. The colors related to this area are yellow, brown and orange. Health is governed by the components of fire and earth.

Skills and knowledge in life can be enhanced by the color black and green with the element earth. We all need people in our lives to help us at some or the other point in life. This area can be enhanced by the colors white and black and the elements metal and water. Career can be improved by blue and white and metal element. Feng Shui has all the answers in the form of Bagua, which can teach us to harmonize our lives and truly be happy.

Many people are attracted to Feng Shui and for many good reasons. While most simply believe that it is just some oriental superstitious set of ideas on interior design (but that is just part of the extensive definition for Feng Shui), the Feng Shui that we know today is actually made up of various schools of thought and incorporates the different cultures under which it was born.

A primary benefit to the varying options available in Feng Shui is that even beginners can grasp and apply it's methods with ease in their homes without having to blow the budget. Additionally, there are advantages unique to Feng Shui that can be incorporated if you're willing to learn with an open mind and willing hands.

Bringing balance is the key. Have you ever found yourself completely overwhelmed with unending junk and completely stressed out of your mind? It's likely that you are suffering from a visual imbalance in your surroundings. The best way to infuse a sense of balance is by bringing together elements that provide you with a grip of control in the outer balance of things. If you can create some semblance of balance harmony in trivial things like your furniture, you are sure to find that creating balance in other aspects of your life equally manageable.

It helps you to focus on the details. Mindfulness in the small things can be a very good thing. Many people tend to focus on the large things in life so much that even the minor details like how you arrange your home or office seem to be lost. When these "minor" aspects of life continually get put on the back burner they tend to build up and produce a stressful environment which will accumulate into other problems complicating your life.

It opens more possibilities to meet new people. Meeting new people and making new friends is another advantage applying Feng Shui in your life. When you utilize Feng Shui you'll be able to locate other persons within your social circles who enjoy similar ideas and will even help you to expand your knowledge of Feng Shui.

It gives a fresh perspective on things. At any given time, a fresh perspective is always welcome. This positive perspective can invite changes for the better. A new way of looking at home arrangement, for example, may actually serve to benefit you in the long run. The fresh perspective brought about by Feng Shui can actually bring about an enrichment of one?s mind.

Inviting success and abundance. The primary goal of Feng Shui is to invite all good possibilities into your life. Success and abundance will feel within your reach and a prosperous outlook can be expected if Feng Shui is practiced correctly.

Increased aesthetic appeal. Beyond all the listed benefits of Feng Shui, the top would surely be its natural beauty. The aesthetic appeal of a properly decorated and organized home, incorporated with good Feng Shui technique, can be a legacy that may transcend generations and promote beauty in all other aspects of your life.

Come back with me, dear ones, to Ancient China. No, this has nothing to do with Kung Fu Panda, though it must be said as far as talking Panda kung fu movies go, it was pretty hilarious. Did you know Dustin Hoffman does a voice in there? Anyway, Id prefer, instead, to take you back 3,000 year to the first uses of an ancient Chinese art known as Feng Shui.

Translated as wind water, Feng Shui is essentially a guide to arranging your stuff. The working belief is that if you arranged your furniture around in just the right way, it will unlock blocked passages of energy that can affect your happiness, health, and wealth. It was the wealth part that got you interested, right?

Though many practitioners have degraded it to a mere system of arranging stuff, the soul of Feng Shui is rooted in the belief that our lives are deeply affected by the things around us and the by thee spaces we live in. Thats not so much of stretch, is it? We are, after al, the byproducts of our environments, what is so preposterous about the notion that our environment continues to affect us everyday?

The Western scientific community has dismiss Feng Shui as some kind of ancient magic system. But the Chinese believe practicing it ensures good health, wealth, and a more fulfilling connection to other people and the environment. This is all predicated on the Chinese belief in chi, or energy " literally is means air or breath. They believe every object has a specific kind of chi. Therefore, you only want to have the kinds of objects in your home that have good chi. It is a delicately simple system.

The dedicated study of Feng Shui requires a lifetime to truly appareciatel. From simple arrangement to the intricacies of the I Ching, there is more than can be learned by one person. It is not just a study of the things in a space, but it requires understand the people requesting your services. You must understand their energy and listen to what kinds of energy they wish to attract and repel. Further studies will take you into Lunar Cycles, chi cleansing, and the Five Phases of being. Heavy stuff for an art dismissed as little more than an ancient Chinese interior design course.

Many of the feng shui home tips are misinterpreted leading to incorrect applications. For instance, many people avoid putting their aquarium in the kitchen because they consider water will extinguish the fire element specific to this house area. Such a principle has to be understood symbolically, particularly since the presence of the water tank in the kitchen could increase the prosperity of the home. Another erroneous feng shui home tip is that of never keeping books in the bedroom since they will stimulate you and prevent good sleep. False!

The feng shui home analysis further involves the investigation of the front and back structures as they are differentiated from houses. On the other hand apartments tend to follow the light source, looking towards windows, but the problem under such circumstances would be the entrance that is usually dark because it's located more towards the center of the building. Compensations do exist in the feng shui design of an apartment. You can attract more positive energy when you can make the choice of floor you want to live at, not to mention that the selection of the flat with the best view is one other top point to benefit from in terms of feng shui home arrangement.

To be able to design a positive feng shui bedroom, one needs to be able to understand and know how to trigger the ways that nourish the flow of sensual harmonious energy. A good feng shui bedroom is recognized by the type of sensations and emotions it generates: it has to be luring and exciting while still offering a feeling of calm and security. One has to feel comfortable in a feng shui bedroom regardless whether we are talking about an afternoon nap, a great night sleep or an incredible act of passionate love. Here are some of the most common tips and tools to be used for the design of an incredible feng shui bedroom.

Chinese jade feng shui items have the highest value on the market due to the precious nature of the gemstone that is superior to the jade extracted from Mexico, Russia or Turkey. If you acquire jade feng shui items online and you are interested in getting something authentic, then it is a good idea to ask for some form of certification. If the supplier cannot offer such an authenticity proof, you may consider another source. Just to make an idea of how expensive jade feng shui jewelry can be, consider the fact that some items go higher than a few thousand dollars.

Other colors feng shui relies on have the same intricacy of interpretation. One could easily wonder why colors are so important to all traditions. The answer to this question is simple and deep if we think about the very essence of a color: they contain light to a higher or lower degree depending on the nature of the object they pertain to. Therefore, light, chi or life force become synonyms in the complex paradigm of the universe. Hence, the colors feng shui uses are vehicles for the chi and therefore they are able to influence moods, change fortune, improve health and so on.

Furthermore, we have to acknowledge the trendy aspect of the feng shui tips. False values that do not take the essence of this practice into consideration but rather remain limited to the surface luster of apparent benefits are harmful by nature. Shallowness does not make a match with real feng shui; hence, do not make this practice a bombastic element of your life; the only thing that matters is what results from it. Understanding, analyzing, putting into practice and constantly learning, these are the ways to cultivate the spirit of feng shui in its authentic form.
