How can you repair a botched glass etching?

I bought 2 very expensive mirrors to have etched and give as gifts. But when I received them back they were completely wrong and ruined! The person who did the etching claims no responsibility and refuses to replace the mirrors of offer any compensation. Is there any way I can cover the small etching on one mirror up? I already have to replace one of them, I'd rather not replace both...

You could always cover it with a larger etching,Just get someone else to do it this time.
