The Southeast governs Wealth and Prosperity. It is important that this area is adequately activated if you are looking to achieve monetary gain. Also remember to activate the other sectors in your home that have any relationship to money. Think about it... if you are in a dead end, low paying job... this directly effects your Wealth, right? So by activating these other areas, perhaps things will change. These areas include: Career (North), Education (NE), Mentors (NW) and even Recognition and Fame (South). If you wish, you can also get a "double dip" by making sure the Personal Development and Success areas based on your personal KUA number is covered as well.

Clear the Clutter. If you have been following the last couple of newsletters, you HAD to know I would say this again! J Because clutter is said to block the flow of positive chi, you need to try and clear as much clutter out of your home as you can. This means things shoved under beds, in corners, etc. Believe me... I KNOW this works - if you clear the clutter and follow the other guidelines I give you, you should notice a difference! How about setting some things aside that you never use and never will use... and give them to charity? Or how about having a garage sale? Then... there is always Ebay!

Choose Your Colors Wisely. The element for the Southeast is Small Wood, so it is important that the colors in this area reflect that element. Wood element colors are Light green and brown. You may also use blue in this area because it is a water element color and water enhances the wood element. Be careful not to use metal or fire colors in this sector - such as metallic, gold, silver, bronze or red. If you do, use them sparingly and make sure that the item you are using has to do with Wealth and Prosperity if at all possible.

Object Placement in the Southeast Sector. It is important what pictures and objects that you have in this sector as they are said to directly influence your wealth and prosperity. If you have a lot of fire or metal items in this area, move them to a different sector such as the South (fire) or West and NW (metal). In this area, try to stay with items that symbolize wood as much as possible.

Here are some ideas of items that you can place in this area that represent Wealth and Prosperity and/or the Wood Element.

Woody, stalky plants or shrub like plants are good to represent the wood element in this sector. Plants such as Lucky Bamboo or Money Tree plants are excellent here!

Place a set of 3 coins tied with red ribbon on the doorknob on the inside of your front door. This is symbolic of money staying in your home. Never put these coins on a back door - put them on the front door whether you use it as an entry door or not.

Hang a bell on the other side of your front door to welcome the positive chi into your home.

Place a statue of a Buddha directly across from your front door. In this position, he is said to welcome the positive chi and disburse it throughout your home. Do not place the Buddha on the floor as this is a sign of disrespect.

If you have a window in the Southeast, hang a beautiful crystal there or you can also hang one of our unique Prosperity Enhancing Chi Energizers which has six I-Ching Coins on it along with the large crystal. Crystals attract positive chi and are excellent items to use in your Wealth Sector.

Create a Wealth Vase. A wealth vase can be very simply made with a nice crystal bowl or vase and by placing items that represent wealth in it. Some items you may want to use could be coins, ingots, semi precious stones, expensive jewelry, etc. Keep this out of site in a drawer or cupboard as this is not supposed to be seen by others.

Set up a Terrapin Bowl in the Southeast or the North. Terrapins aka turtles are said to bring extreme good luck and fortune to a home. You can either use a real turtle or a ceramic one. You can find a small crystal bowl, place a mound of rocks or pebbles in it, add water, and place the turtle in it. Be creative... make it beautiful - and don't forget to change the water periodically to make sure it is fresh.

Place a 3 legged money frog right inside your front door, facing into the house. I also have several smaller money frogs that I place under furniture and other inconspicuous places in my home. You may also put another one diagonally across from it - not facing the front door - but off to the left or right of the opposite wall that your front door is on.

Place a pair of Fu Dogs on either side of your front door as they are said to protect the family wealth.

Use Aromatherapy to create positive chi in this sector as well as to dispel any negative chi. I use essential oils DAILY in my Wealth Sector and I cannot recommend them strongly enough to use in your home!

The Ba Gua is simply reference to the eight directions, north, south, west, east, northwest, northeast, southwest, and southeast. Each direction is associated with a body organ. In Feng Shui, there are traditionally five elements associated with living spaces: water, fire, wood, metal and earth. The nine areas of the bagua map are each associated with an element, and by using the colors associated with the element in the correct area, you can easily enhance the attributes of and ch'i flow within the area.

The element water is associated with the north, and the career and knowledge & self-cultivation areas of the bagua map. The main colors for the element are blue and black, with white, silver and gold as additional colors to give it a boost. Avoid yellows, beiges and red in this area, as it detracts from the element.

Fire is associated with the south, and the fame and reputation and love and marriage areas of the bagua map. The main color for fire is exactly what you might think: red. Use green or brown as accent colors, but avoid the colors for the water element (blues, blacks, white, silver & gold) as water extinguishes the positive effects of fire.

The element of wood is associated with the east and southeast, and the health and family and wealth and prosperity areas of the bagua map. Green is the color to focus on in this area, with blue and black as supplemental enhancers. Avoid the colors for the metal element (white, silver, gold, yellow and beige), as wood and metal are opposites and create conflict.

Metal is associated with the west and northwest, and the creativity and children and helpful people areas of the bagua map. Use white, silver and gold as the primary colors for this area, with yellow and beige as additional boosting colors. Stay away from red, green and brown for best effect!

Finally, the element of earth is associated with the northeast and the southwest, and the center area of the bagua map. Use yellow and beige as the main colors for this area, with red as a backup enhancement color. Avoid green, brown and blue and black for the most positive results.

By understanding the relationship between colors and the five elements in Feng Shui, you can increase the positive ch'i flow and promote balance and tranquility in your life!

All ancient cultures had sacred geometric designs representative of their Gods, which had a mantra (or sacred sound vibration) that corresponded to it. In the Vedic culture, we find much power and energy said to be held within sacred geometric symbols.

Yantras are not "lucky charms" to be worn or displayed as icons of power in and of themselves. Much specific knowledge and ability must go into their preparation and much dedication and worship is required to achieve the desired effects.

Yantra means a "talisman", or "instrument" or " Amulet" or "Kavach" which, if prepared and created by a qualified person as well as utilized under his specific instructions for fruitful results, will help to gain the objector objects of desire or ambition. Although it would not be a difficult task for most of us to copy the form of a Yantra, it would not have the desired effect. Furthermore, to be perfectly honest, it would be all but useless if not created by a qualified person and then "infused" with the specific energy via the medium of mantra. Otherwise, it becomes just an interesting form or picture to look at, but has no real effect on time or circumstances within life.

Yantras should always be used on the level. If drawn on paper, the colors preferable are red, orange, yellow or a combination of these. A Yantra without bija mantras is dead. They can be drawn to whatever size is required. In worship they should be placed level on a pedestal or 'pitha'. Before any Yantra is a suitable object for puja, it must be given life (pranapratishta).

A Yantra is essential in every field of your life, to attain success in your profession, to acquire wealth, to win in court cases, to ward off diseases and to progress in meditation. By having a Yantra and keeping it in a sacred place in your house, gazing it everyday can fulfill your desires and help in attaining your goals.

It is auspicious to see the Yantra daily in the morning and one should lit incense/dhoop or lamp with ghee before the Yantra every morning. By doing this, native is blessed with success and wealth.

Yantra is the use of certain external objects, symbols or some mechanical means to worship the divine. The act of folding of hands in front of the deity is but a kind of yantra only. The manner in which a fireplace is built for the performance of some Vedic sacrifice, the method in which the place is prepared and the materials (sambhra) are assembled, the manner in which the oblations are poured into the fire, the way the priests sit around the altar, and in fact the very act of chanting of the mantras with mechanical precision form part of yantric worship only.

The very design of the temple as an outer symbol of the existence of the Divine on the material plane, the act of visiting the temple, circling around the temple, entering the temple, the lighting of the lamps in front of the divine, the decorations and the ornamentation so characteristic of Hindu temples and places of worship, the manner in which the images are built and installed, the lighting of the lamps, the offerings, the method of worship, the partaking of prasad, and in short any practice that is mechanical, symbolic and ritualistic to a degree, form part of this approach only.

Times are bad nowadays. Many are retrenched, while others are losing money in their investments. Since everyone is looking to have more money, I feel that this article has come at the right time. Feng Shui is related to health and wealth. In this article, I will share with you how you can use Feng Shui to improve your wealth luck. Even if you don't make it big, you can still minimise your losses.

In Feng Shui, Water represents wealth or money. Whenever there is water surrounding a property, there is always wealth. Besides the fact that the rich people can afford waterfront properties, it is also due to the "water" which brings them their wealth luck.

From a Feng Shui point of view, it is very unfair for the poor as they have less choices when it comes to choosing their home. The rich can afford to live in places with good Feng Shui which brings them wealth luck while the poor have to stay in places where nothing much can be done about the Feng Shui.

A few years ago, a client staying on a landed property asked me to look at the Feng Shui of his house. After taking a look at the exterior, I told him that nothing much needs to be done as the Feng Shui is already optimised.

After some time, a friend recommended another client to me. This client was staying in a small apartment. After checking the directions and the apartment, I suggested that he move out. The door was directly in front of the lift, and the flat was at the end of a long corridor. Besides that, the directions were unfavorable for him.

He told me that it was impossible for him to move out as he was under a tight budget. I understood his position and gave him a list of things which he could improve. Unfortunately, the effect is minimal as the root cause is still present.

I need to explain here that I am not belittling people who stay in small apartments. It is just very difficult to change and optimise the Feng Shui of flats and apartments as everything is more or less "fixed". This is why I said it was very unfair for the poor. However, don't worry if you are staying in a place with poor Feng Shui and can't move house. I will teach you later how you can "use" the Feng Shui of the rich to benefit yourself.

Let me move on...

There are 2 types of "Water" in Feng Shui. They are the "Real Water" and the "Virtual Water". What is the difference between them?"Real Water" refers to swimming pools, streams, rivers, the sea, fountains or ponds. "Virtual Water" refers to roads, paths, walkways, lanes and alleys. It is not enough to just have "water" outside your house. Certain conditions have to be met before the "water" can work its magic in bringing you more wealth luck.

First condition, the "water" must be at the correct direction. From 1984 to 2003, it is the period of 7. The "water" must at the East for the occupants of the house to prosper. From 2004 to 2023, it is the period of 8. In this period, the "water" must be at the Southwest of the exterior of the house in order for the occupants to prosper.

Applying this information practically, if there is "water" at the Southwest direction, outside your house, you will prosper during this period, all the way till 2023. In this case, the "water" refers to both "virtual" and "real" water. This means that if there is a pond, river, stream, road, path, fountain or swimming pool at the Southwest of the exterior your house, you will prosper.

Next condition, the "water" must be S-shaped. When the "water" is S-shaped, it causes the energy to meander, thereby bringing wealth luck. If the "water" is straight, the energy travels in a straight line which signifies "easy come, easy go" in terms of wealth. The road, path, stream or river should be S-shaped instead of straight. For swimming pools and ponds, they should be kidney-shaped instead of being rectangular, squarish or triangular.

The last condition is that the "water" must be clear. This condition only applies to "Real Water". You may be living near a big drain. If the water in the drain is murky and smelly, your wealth luck will be affected. This also applies to swimming pools and ponds. Do maintain them regularly if you can.

Clear and clean water also signifies good economy and a prospering nation. Look at Dubai and Japan, their "waters" are all very clear and clean. Before I end off, I promised to share something with you earlier on...

OK, so what can you do if you are staying at a place with poor Feng Shui and lack the means to move house?How can you "use" the rich peoples' Feng Shui to benefit you?

Let me share with you a simple secret. Just take a walk around the areas where the rich stay. When you spend more time in those areas, the Feng Shui of those areas will start affecting you. You might want to be hang around those areas a few times per week. You can take a walk or jog around those areas. In time to come, you will prosper as well.

There are two different "schools of feng shui". The Eastern school uses a compass to find your Wealth area, while the Western school of feng shui orients everything from your front door.
There are many ways to enhance your feng shui to encourage wealth to grow. I don't know a lot about the Eastern method, so I will try to explain the Western method to you. In the western method, the main entry (the intended front door, not necessarily the one you use the most, as a lot of people enter side or back doors) is the mouth of chi, where the energy will come into your home. You want to make sure that the door and entry are clean and inviting. A small fountain or wind chime near your entrance are good ways to encourage chi to flow in. Also, avoid a mirror directly opposite the door, as this will cause the chi to move too quickly or even bounce back out!
As for encouraging wealth, the back left corner is a good place to enhance. Good enhancements for the area will be things that sybolize money and wealth to you, gold coins (they don't have to be real), jewelry, pictures of things that make you think of wealth, etc. Keep the area clean and clutter free. The color purple is also considered to be a good attractor for this gua.
Another thing to think about as far as feng shui and money is to keep your oven in good repair and clean. Also, keep toilet lids down and even block drains for other sinks if you want to, as they can "wash the money down the drain". If you have dripping faucets, repair them!
You can do feng shui on many levels. You can do a cure or a hundred cures, it all depends on your comfort level. You can even put a money attractor in the far left corner of every room of your house because the bagua map can be used on any space, from an entire house to a single room...even a car! Try not to take it overboard, but also keep in mind that there is no ONE thing you have to do, you can pick an idea that feels right for you and see how it works, then go from there.

Where should I take these very old and rare expensive coins to get money for them? E-bay?

I have a ton of rare coins that my stepfather needs money for, like old nazi coins and japanese and chinese coins, i just need to know where i will not get ripped off. Thanks.

Ebay is good but check Ebay auctions to see what people are getting for those types of coins before you do you own auctions). The coins may be old but might not be as rare as you think.

Look in your local phone book for coin dealers and check them out. If you do go to any coin dealer, do not appear overly anxious to sell. That is when you can be taken advantage of.

While dogs tend to get lots of exercise, cats are often left to their own devices, having to find their own ways of exercising if they are kept indoors.

Cats have gone from working animals to creatures of leisure. In the past, a cat spent most of its day hunting, keeping the homestead free of rodents. Today, most cats are pure companions who spend the day waiting for their beloved human to return home. Even if you work from home, it is important to set aside some time to play with your cat. Interacting with you stimulates her physically and mentally, keeping her healthy in body and mind.

The time of day you play depends on your schedule and your cat's natural rhythms. Some cats like a leisurely morning, while others are fired up from the moment they open their eyes. It may take a while to find the time that fits both of you. Once you've found it, however, don't be surprised to see your cat expecting play at that time each day. Cats are creatures of habit, and they feel most secure with a regular schedule.

Play time helps with some behavior problems. A rousing game of chase-the-lure will take the edge off of a frisky feline who tends to attack her owner's ankles. A good dose of interaction also fills her need for your undivided attention and may make her less likely to drape herself across you at an inopportune time.

Remember that if you don't want your cat to play with your plants while you're away, don't' use plant fronds as lures during play time. The same thing applies to hands; if you don't want your cat to pounce on unsuspecting visitors hands, don't use yours as a toy when playing with her. If you purchase toys for your cat, check to make sure that all small pieces are secured tightly.

The best toys for cats are often home-made and only need YOUR interaction.

My favorite is "fishing" with a piece of string or a stick. Hold the string/stick above the head of your cat pretending its a fishing rod. Your cat will delight in jumping and swatting, especially if you let her catch it once in a while.

Another favorite with my cats is to crumple a piece of paper. Just the sound of the paper seems to get them excited. Show the cats the ball of paper and then throw it for them. Watch as they chase it round the room in delight.

Some toys, such as lures attached to string should only be played with when you are there to manipulate it. If you leave it set up for her while you are gone, there is a chance she could become tangled in the string and choke. Pet supply stores carry some captivating self-play toys, such as a ball inside a track that will keep your kitty safely content while you are away. A kitty condo or carpeted tree is good investment. The multiple levels encourage climbing, while the hiding holes allow your cat to indulge her stalking instinct. Toys need not be expensive. Create a cat puzzle by taping a toilet paper roll tube to the floor and placing a cat treat inside. Your cat will enjoy trying o get the treat from the tube.

Be sure that you remain in control during playtime. If your cat starts to play roughly, rub a stuffed animal against her belly and quickly withdraw your hands. This directs her aggressive behavior onto the toy and away from you. If she ignores the toy and continues to play-attack you, end the play session and walk away. Come back in a few moments and try again. After awhile, she will learn that you control the level of play, not her.

The ancient Celts had no written word, nor did they need it. Instead they symbolized their world in ways that were easily understood by all. Apart from symbolizing relationships, they represented the things in the world around them in their symbols too. However more personal relationships within tribes were symbolized by means of designs or shapes which is today considered a form of artwork.

The Celts used symbols to communicate to each other particular meanings, but also used them to illustrate their spirituality or as a means of projecting an image to another. Celtic warriors decorated their bodies in battle with symbols they deemed most appropriate individually, yet their body art had a twofold reasoning behind it.

The first reasoning was personal while the second was meant to instil fear in their enemies. For instance, warriors might decorate their bodies with a particular animal that they hoped to gain the powers of in battle. They might also use symbols that indicated brotherhood, a bond that existed between each warrior on the battlefield. Many symbols used called on the Gods and Goddesses to bestow protection, power and courage.

Family Symbols

Celts belonged to different clans or tribes and used symbols to show this. They were a people who possessed superior craftsmanship and were able to capture their symbols in delicate pieces of jewelry. Apart from warriors who painted or tattooed symbols onto their bodies, the Celts also etched and sculpted their symbols in stone or wood.

These symbols were either meant to depict or express the connection of families or clan status yet were also meant to depict the relationships within a family unit. Symbols also paid homage to their interconnectedness with nature, the universe, their Gods and Goddesses too.

What is known and understood regarding these personal symbols is sketchy yet their meanings are for the most, agreed on by scholars.

Common Family Symbols

The most common symbols used to indicate family are those for brothers, sisters, father and daughter relationships and the Celtic symbol motherhood. Apart from indicating the relationship many of these symbols were used as a way to worship or revere these figures.

While many symbols were portrayed accurately, for instance animal figures of the Sun Cross, family symbols were depicted by means of shapes and designs, swirls and knot work.

A mother's love was symbolized by the triquestra - two hearts which are intertwined with one unbroken line. .

Celtic Life

Celtic clans were in essence an extended family, they shared a very strong bond with other clans or tribes yet each kept their own customs, traditions and beliefs. Not all members of the clan were equal though and each had held their own status and purpose. At the center of a tribe was the family unit which was held in high esteem. Children were not reared by their own parents; instead they were reared by foster parents who were often the brother of the birth mother.

During pagan times the Druids played an important role in Celtic life. They acted as advisors, teachers and healers and as ambassadors in time of war. The Druids held the status of Priests and as such were responsible for the passing of knowledge. They led a very spiritual existence and it is to the Druids that many symbols owe their existence.

The laughing Buddha is regarded as one of the gods of wealth in Feng Shui practice. It brings prosperity, success and financial gains in the house. The location of placing the laughing Buddha is important. It has to sit at some 30" approximate height and should be facing directly the main door. The energy that enters the house from the main door is greeted by the laughing Buddha and the energy is activated, and turns highly prosperous.

If this location is not possible, the next best place to keep the Buddha, is on a side table, or a corner table which is diagonally opposite to front door and facing the door. It is not advisable to keep the laughing Buddha in the bedroom or in the dining room. This god of wealth is not worshipped or prayed to but just displayed, as its presence is purely symbolic and auspicious.

The three-legged frog is considered very lucky. It usually has one or three coins in its mouth. The position of the three-legged frog with a coin in its mouth, is very important. When they are placed in a wallet of purse they are placed in such a way when the purse or Wallet in placed on a table or whatever they are facing up [ This is the side with the most characters on ]
This is only a hunch but I would suspect they are worn facing outwards as with all symbols that are worn about the neck it would seem to be this way
